List #5: Outdoor Adventures

While in Puerto Vallarta, I went on an Outdoor Adventure with Becky and Reem.  On that adventure we did the following:

  • Blew our hair back with a 30 minute speed boat ride getting a glimpse of the beauty of the Mexico shoreline.
  • Climbed into 1973 US Military Trucks and braved the craziest road I have ever seen.  We bounced over rocks, drove threw rivers, and held on for dear life.
  • Got hooked up with harnesses, bandannas, and helmets.  All in all, we got outfitted up to feel pretty hardcore.
  • Hopped on a mule and rode to the top of the mountain.  While on this leg of the journey, we were serenaded by one of tour guides with Mexican tunes.
  • Zip lined and repelled our way back down the mountain.  This was comprised of approximately 10 zip lines (including one that was 1000ft long and 250ft high), a repel down a rock face right next to a waterfall, and a repel where we literally dropped into the river below.
  • Got totally soaked.  Between zip lining and repelling into water and the rain that was pouring down by the end, we could not have been more wet.  However, the rain did mean that our hike back was washed out so we got to do the emergency zip lines usually reserved for the guides.
If you'd like to be impressed with how bad ass we are, please feel free :).

List #4: Why I want to be VRog

For those of you who don't know the one and only Valerie, she's pretty amazing.  I'm fairly confident that every little girl wants to grow up and be just like her.  Clearly, I am one such little girl.  Therefore, I wanted to dedicate this post to the top 5 reasons I want to be just like Valerie (I had to limit myself to 5 lest I get ridiculously out of control).

  1. Have you seen the girl?  She's freaking beautiful!  And she's discovered the fountain of youth...it's definitely something to envy.
  2. She owns her own amazingly awesome cottage.  Yeah, I said it.  A cottage!
  3. She loves food.  And wine.  And knows fabulous places to get good food.  And good wine.
  4. She has excellent fashion sense!  And she's willing to share it (as I rock the coolest wristband ever!)
  5. She has fun blogs about things like pretty food and bathrooms.
Yeah, that just happened.

List #3: Traveling Solo

Recently I went on a trip to San Francisco and discovered that going to training alone is not nearly as fun as training with friends.  There were numerous experiences I wanted to share with someone, but here's the short list of things I wanted someone there to experience with me:

  • While driving to my hotel, I notice that quite a few people exercise in SF.   This included a gentlemen in full work out gear running down the street....with his arms perfectly straight at his sides.  It was the weirdest and funniest thing.  But you probably had to be there :).
  • My trainer was delightful.  So delightful in fact that she told dozens of juvenile accountant and lawyer jokes.  I think what I found most entertaining was her intro, "If I were grading, I'd give you all A's.  Instead, I'll tell you a joke."  I'm totally gonna steal that and pawn that off as my own.
  • SF just has a great vibe.  Walking around downtown, you come across some cool people and random artwork.  Yes, this is just one more reason why I should carry a camera.
  • I had the best sushi ever.  Seriously, SO good.  Words can't even express how fabulous it was (well, I'm sure some words can....just not mine).  And no one is able to back me up in this.  I also had some awesome Indian food...but I felt that filling the list up with food would have been kind of lame :).
  • H&M is better with friends.  No doubt.

List #2: Disclaimer

I'm gonna go ahead and cover all my bases.  Since this is my first time blogging, it could be that I'm really bad at this, so here's a list of the reasons why I was so hesitant to create this blog.

  • Sometimes I'm just lazy.  When I feel obligated to do things they become more of a chore than a joy.  That being said, I'll probably go through a fair amount of dry spells on this sucker.
  • I'm really not as funny as people think I am (unfortunate, but true), so it could be that only my mom* reads this.  How embarrassing.
  • I just know, that rick; will be mentally corrected my grammar every time he reads a post (and then its like college all over agin.**
*Upon further consideration, pretty sure my mom won't read it either.  Well that's depressing.
**Yes, it was in fact very difficult to write this sentence.  So let's just assume that any other glaring grammatical/spelling errors you encounter on this blog are also intentional and added for comedic or artistic value :).
